"Put yourself in the picture"

this design won the australian nation youth week competition. pretty cool cause i got a new 24inch iMac, 4gb iPod nano and a whole bunch of programs.

we had to make a flat image that addressed the theme "changing the world starts with me" heres the description of the work i sent in with the image.

Description

My work utilises the positive and negative connotations of graffiti, which is used as a medium for expression by today's youth. Graffiti is also traditionally a medium for political statement, hence making it perfect for the theme "changing the world starts with me".

The black graffiti “spreading” from our world represents the breakdown towards chaos. This is a metaphor for our world, unless today’s youth “stands up” and demands change. The youth in the image is given the chance to change this corrupting world - the “insert face here” demonstrates the ability of any individual to make a difference.
